Chip tuning or remapping info? The downsides of chip tuning are the need for more regular car maintenance and servicing. You are effectively reducing the safe margin of error the makers build in. This compensates for low quality fuel, or the wear and tear associated with longer service intervals. When you go for a remap you should ensure that your car is serviced and running in tip top condition.

Whenever you make a physical intervention the data pertaining to such intervention gets recorded in the memory banks of your car’s computer. The computer uses the mapped data to work out the optimum control conditions in which the engine should function. The ECU shuffles through the tons of data that come to it in the form of readings to decide the course of action that should be taken by the engine to ensure an ideal drive. The ECU tells your engine not only what to do but also how to do it. Thus the ECU in order to make accurate diagnosis on engine control utilizes stored data. See more info at tuning box.

OEM clutch – for VW 2.0TDi 103kW engine – is designed for 400Nm torque. VW Q02 six-speed gearbox is rated for max. 500Nm. Factory engine calibration data allow 320Nm @ 1800-2500rpm. Bad standard remap can easily go over 400Nm right from 1800rpm. What do you think happen to OEM dual-mass clutch? It reminds me few years ago…we replaced friend’s clutch after one bad ECU remap combined with bad driver mentioned earlier. All piston heads love motorsport…we all watched Walter Roehrl, Ari Vatanen, Stig Blomqvist, Juha Kankunnen, Colin McRae, Ayrton Senna or Schumi…did you also noticed they never used low revs, rarely used mid range revs and most of time spent in high revs where optimal power and torque is. One wonders why so many drivers try to push it hard in low revs and chiptuners support this stupidity. Power = Torque x RPM. More engine revs less torque you need. Why do you need 96HP@380Nm@1800rpm if you can have 170HP@3500rpm where is the optimal place to shift gears.

Our conclusion on chip tuning: On our state-of-the-art MAHA dynamometer, we are able to carry out performance increases with the real engine running. This is done taking into account all environment parameters and peripherals in exactly the way you drive your car on the road. The special software parameters are adapted by us in a targeted way to a sporty tuning in order to exploit the full potential of the engine. We leave the component protection of the manufacturers activated; in most cases, fuel is even saved! So it is not a given that a higher engine performance automatically means higher pollutant emissions.

Chip tuning car includes adjustments that enhance the execution, the care of, and presentation of a vehicle. Tuning is an approach to customize a car and is a side interest for some. The territories of adjustment incorporate sound, inside, motor, suspension, and body. Every one of these ranges makes an interminable number of particular auto adjustments and can incorporate expanding efficiency, enhancing taking care of, or changing the outside.

The engine can be tuned for conditions that you set, like better fuel, removing or raising the rev limiter, increasing boost in turbo charged engines, increasing or decreasing air to fuel ratios for more horse power. Tuning can remove barriers that can limit the benefits of other modifications to an engine. It can also be a good value for horsepower per dollar spent.
